Signing in to a St. Charles issued Chromebook

There are two ways to sign into a St. Charles issued Chromebook: 1) using a Clever badge and 2) using Google credentials. Both methods are outlined below.

Note: We recommend picking one method and sticking with it. Otherwise, you will lose your local settings like saved WiFi connections and custom display configurations.

Log in using a Clever badge

Click here if you do not yet have a badge.

You can download and print your badge right from the Clever portal. To do this:

First, you need to log into the Clever portal. Use the instructions below under Log in using your St. Charles Google account to get into the system.
After signing in, click your name in the upper-right corner of the Clever portal and click Download Badge.
This will save a PDF to your device.
Just print it and you're ready to go!

Note: Students in grades 4-8 are required to set a six digit pin on their first use of the badge. They will need this pin to log into the device with the badge from this point forward. Please keep it in a secure place.

Once you have a badge:

This is the easiest method for signing into a St. Charles issued Chromebook. The Clever badge is just a printed QR code students hold up in front of the webcam when logging into the device. If you don't yet have one, use the instructions above under Click here if you do not yet have a badge.

Follow these steps to sign in using a Clever badge:

From the Sign in screen, click the blue Next button to use a Clever badge.

2. Hold up your Clever badge to the webcam.

Note: Students in grades 4-8 also need to also enter their six digit pin.

3. As soon as you see a green check mark and hear a tone, you are logged into the device. It should take you right to your Clever portal.

Log in using your St. Charles Google account

This works much like before. The only real change is the need to click Sign in with a different account (the blue text). It then takes you to the familiar Google login screen.

2. Type in the first part of your email address (the part before the @ symbol) and click Next.

3. Type your password in the box and click Next.

Note: If you log in with Google, you may see an additional sign in screen for Clever. Just click Log in with Google on that screen and it will take you to your Clever portal - no additional sign in necessary.
